On November 4, 2024, TANLAP, with support from the USAID-funded Wananchi Tuamue (Let’s Decide) project, held a comprehensive Training of Trainers workshop on electoral and democratic processes in Dodoma, Tanzania. The workshop, hosted at the African Dream Hotel, gathered 15 dedicated participants from various regions of Tanzania mainland, aiming to strengthen their capacities in delivering impactful voter education and election observation.
Throughout the training, participants were introduced to specialized approaches, methodologies, and tools essential for effective voter education. The training emphasized practical strategies for disseminating information through multiple channels, including media, to ensure broad community engagement. Additionally, participants honed their facilitation skills, preparing them to lead educational initiatives and inspire informed electoral participation across their communities.
This training was co-facilitated by legal and communication experts from the President’s Office – Regional Administrative and Local Government, providing participants with critical insights into the intersections of legal frameworks and effective communication in the electoral context. This collaboration added depth to the training, reinforcing the importance of accurate, accessible voter education in fostering a transparent and democratic electoral environment.
This initiative underscores a significant commitment to supporting informed and active civic participation. Equipped with advanced skills and resources, each participant is now prepared to contribute to a more engaged electorate, strengthening the foundation of democracy in Tanzania.
We advocate for informed, transparent, and peaceful elections across Tanzania, promoting civic engagement and empowering citizens to shape a united and democratic future.
